While leading and pulling away from the competition, Ava’s kart suddenly came to a halt. “My lithium battery decided to fail with overheating, and the kart just stopped on track,” Ava recalled. The heartbreak was palpable. From leading in P1 to slipping down to P19, the mechanical failure left Ava devastated. “I couldn’t hold back the tears,” she admitted.

By the time the checkered flag flew, Ava had gained an impressive 14 positions, finishing P5—a mere two-tenths of a second behind the race winner. “It was all about moving forward and trying to salvage as many points as possible for the championship,” Ava said, reflecting on her performance. “I was happy to gain 14 spots and finish strong.”
